Import Into Agent

The Import Into Agent feature in Max allows users to overwrite an existing agent with another agent from the same environment. This feature is available via the top-right menu of the Agents screen and is particularly useful when updates or changes have been made to a copied agent.

When selecting the Import Into Agent option, users can choose another agent and are then presented with the versions of that agent. This allows users to import any specific version of the agent, giving them control over which version to apply to the current agent.

Additionally, the agent being overwritten automatically saves a version of its pre-import state and creates a new version for the post-import state. This versioning allows for easy rollback if the imported changes need to be reversed, ensuring safe updates and continuity.

Key Use Cases

  1. Updating Agent with Version Control: Users can import a specific version of an agent to overwrite the current agent, ensuring updates are applied with precision.
  2. Rollback Capability: If the changes from the imported agent are not desired, users can easily revert to the pre-import version, providing flexibility and safety during updates.

How It Works

  • Select the Agent and Version: Users choose another agent and can then select any version of that agent to import.
  • Version History: The current agent automatically saves its pre-import state, and a new version is created after the import, allowing for quick rollback if needed.

This feature provides a seamless way to update agents while maintaining full control over versions and allowing easy recovery if the changes are not suitable.
