Import Into Assistant
The Import Into Assistant feature in Max allows users to overwrite an existing assistant with another assistant from the same environment. This feature is available via the top-right menu of the Assistants screen and is particularly useful when updates or changes have been made to a copied assistant.
When selecting the Import Into Assistant option, users can choose another assistant and are then presented with the versions of that assistant. This allows users to import any specific version of the assistant, giving them control over which version to apply to the current assistant.
Additionally, the assistant being overwritten automatically saves a version of its pre-import state and creates a new version for the post-import state. This versioning allows for easy rollback if the imported changes need to be reversed, ensuring safe updates and continuity.
Key Use Cases
- Updating Assistants with Version Control: Users can import a specific version of an assistant to overwrite the current assistant, ensuring updates are applied with precision.
- Rollback Capability: If the changes from the imported assistant are not desired, users can easily revert to the pre-import version, providing flexibility and safety during updates.
How It Works
- Select the Assistant and Version: Users choose another assistant and can then select any version of that assistant to import.
- Version History: The current assistant automatically saves its pre-import state, and a new version is created after the import, allowing for quick rollback if needed.
This feature provides a seamless way to update assistants while maintaining full control over versions and allowing easy recovery if the changes are not suitable.
